* Candidate Disqualified * Candidate Burnside, who took no contributions, and made no expenditures, was disqualified from the 2006 Election for Utah House District 15. Burnside was disqualified for filing his financial disclosure report late.
In spite of the fact that Burnside was
recently hospitalized, and while there, he was given the wrong
medication twice. This medication caused confusion, memory
loss, and made walking difficult for Burnside, causing him to
miss the 15 September deadline by one day. Lt Governor Gary
Herbert says he has no digression in the matter and jumped at
the chance to disqualify Burnside. Herbert is a Republican
while Burnside was a "Third Party" candidate for the Personal
Choice Party.
I read my own email and answer my own phone. I
care what you think.
Why were you willing to run for office? I have spent the Last 16 years in public service and would love to continue serving my fellow citizens by being elected to serve as the State House of Representatives, District 15 Rep. What do you feel you offer the voters in your race? Honest Representation. True Representation. Moral and Family Values. What does Personal Choice mean to you? Personal Choice means ‘free agency’ to me. How would you apply Personal Choice to the issues you mentioned? I think our laws are too complex for most people, and there are way too many laws that try to enforce people’s morals, values and ethics. Free agency is God’s plan for humanity. Ethics should be taught, Values should be preached, and Morality should lived, not legislated. Legislation and statutes are a form of, or an implementation of coercive forces that deny or limit our free agency and should only be applied in ways that safeguard or preserve every citizens rights. ___________________________________________________________________________________
